In this lesson, students will review the main causes and effects that were introduced through the article in the last lesson.
Students will still need their (now highlighted) copies of the article, Illinois: A Growing and Changing State, for reference.
Students will also be making a Cause and Effect Foldable to reinforce the cause and effect relationships being taught. This should likely be completed in a whole group setting. Students will need a flat page to fit the pieces of this foldable in their notebooks.
After completing the foldable, students can take the 5 Question Quick Check for this lesson. Teachers can decide if students can use their interactive notebooks as reference or not. An Answer Key for the Quick Check is available here.
DSS is a standards-based Social Studies Curriculum for 4th Grade Educators in Illinois.
